Characteristics :
| The Bo–Yele–Matotoka road, approximately 92 km long, mainly crosses rural and semi-rural areas located in the Bo, Tonkolili and Bombali districts. The alignment runs through agricultural areas, low-lying zones prone to flooding and gently rolling terrain, and crosses numerous seasonal and permanent watercourses requiring appropriate hydraulic structures. The existing road consists of a single carriageway with variable platform width and limited or deteriorated shoulders. Several sections no longer meet current geometric and structural standards. Drainage is provided by a significant number of culverts, box culverts and bridges, some of which show hydraulic or structural deficiencies given current and projected hydrological conditions. Functionally, the road is a major regional corridor, connecting urban centers, rural communities and production areas, and ensuring year-round traffic continuity, particularly during the rainy season. The project includes the construction of 119 bridges and hydraulic crossing structures (maximum length of 145 m, minimum of 13 m). |
Mission of IDC :
| Review and update of the existing feasibility study; detailed topographic surveys along the entire road alignment; geotechnical investigations for pavement and structure design; hydrological and hydraulic studies for the design of drainage systems, culverts, box culverts and the 119 bridges; structural diagnosis and preliminary design of bridges and hydraulic structures; pavement condition assessment and road geometric design; traffic surveys and demand forecasting; economic and financial analysis of the project; initial environmental and social reconnaissance and identification of mitigation measures; preliminary assessment of resettlement impacts; preparation of tender documents (drawings, technical specifications, bills of quantities) in accordance with funding agency requirements; coordination with the client and stakeholders. |
