Kuwaiti Fund (FK)
Characteristics :
As part of the regional integration policy followed by Senegal, it is planned to improve regional links, especially those with Guinea. It is within this framework that Senegal obtained loans from the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development, the Saudi Fund for Development and the OPEC Fund to finance the rehabilitation works of the Madina Gounass – Guinea border road. (70 km).
Administratively, the road is located in the region of Kolda, department of Vélingara. The section begins in Medina Gounass and ends at the border between Senegal and Guinea between the agglomerations of Boundou Fourdou and Salémata.
It is therefore an important axis of service to the southern zone of the country, particularly from the localities of Tambacounda and Vélingara, hence the relevance of the project. In addition, there is the link that will be facilitated between Senegal and Guinea, favoring the development of economic activities in the area in particular and in the two countries in general. The section has the particularity of skirting, in certain sections, the Niokolokoba National Park.
Mission of IDC :
