Son Excellence Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, président de la Banque Islamique de Développement (BID), accompagné de Son Excellence Seedy Keita, ministre des Finances (gouverneur de la BID), et de hauts fonctionnaires gouvernementaux, a visité des installations innovantes de traitement des arachides et de cogénération électrique à Banjul. Cette expérience de première main leur a permis de constater les progrès remarquables et l’impact étendu du projet “Valorisation Accrue du Secteur de l’Arachide”.

This visionary project aims to:

Boost national food security through advanced groundnut production techniques.

Reduce poverty among rural populations, benefiting over 70% of the workforce.

Enhance economic resilience through modern processing and energy-efficient power generation.

Promote sustainable agricultural practices, ensuring the sector’s future and environmental health.

During the site visit, the transformative role of advanced technologies in elevating The Gambia’s groundnut sector and driving sustainable economic growth was highlighted. This project exemplifies the power of strategic initiatives in unlocking the potential of agriculture, a cornerstone of many of our member countries’ economies.
