Characteristics :

As part of its policy for poverty reduction in the country, the Djiboutian government has selected the basic infrastructure project in the Balbala district. The IDB was approached and responded favorably by agreeing to finance this project aimed at providing access to basic economic and social infrastructure and community development opportunities in the Balbala district.
This project includes the following components:
Construction of a care center
Construction and equipment of a vocational training center
Road works: 16.8 km of road surfaced in various categories (dense asphalt, concrete pavers, cut stones)
Drainage works: construction of scuppers and collectors
Electrification and public lighting works: construction of 500 m of MV lines, 2 transformers, 10 km of LV lines, and 142 public lighting units
Drinking water supply works: construction of 6,000 m of secondary network and 5,000 m of tertiary network
Sanitation works: construction of 3 types of latrines

IDC Mission :

IDC is in charge of the project management mission (architectural and technical studies and supervision of the works) which consists, from the program drawn up by the Administration and in compliance with the allocated budget, in:
establish preliminary studies
establish the architectural and technical studies (APD)
prepare tender documents (DAO)
assist the delegated contracting authority in the conduct of the analyzes of the offers and the award of works and supply contracts
monitor and control the work.
