The Government of The Gambia has received a loan from BADEA and FSD for the studies and construction of the crossing of the town of Brikama as well as the Brikama – Dimbaya – Darsilami – Marakissa loop over a length of 26 km. The existing road has sections of earth and other asphalt, it crosses agricultural tracks and urban areas. The works of this road mainly include: \u2022 Reorganization and widening of the urban crossing of the city of Brikama including sidewalks and drainage works, expropriation of constructions and signage, \u2022 Construction of a roadway consisting of a bituminous concrete wearing course (5cm thick), a laterite cement base layer (20cm thick) and a natural laterite subgrade (20cm thick); \u2022 Development of crossroads and crossings of villages; \u2022 The construction of two shoulders paved in bilayer; \u2022 The coating of sidewalks with surface plaster at crossings of built-up areas; \u2022 The construction of transverse drainage works such as culverts and scuppers; \u2022 The construction of longitudinal drainage works such as earthen and concrete ditches.<\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
